About me
Ishan Prashant Pathak is a cybersecurity researcher and security engineer currently pursuing a Master of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. His academic focus spans cybersecurity, industrial control systems, artificial intelligence, and computer communication networks. He serves as a Security Research Assistant in the Cyber-Physical and Power System Lab under Dr. Nuri Yilmazer, where he leads the development of SOC testbeds for smart grid and DER environments using platforms such as Wazuh and NS3, achieving significant reductions in false positives and response times through automation. Ishan has industry experience as a Security Engineer at SafeAeon Inc., where he supported large-scale SOC operations, EDR and SIEM deployments, infrastructure hardening, and cloud-based MDM management for thousands of endpoints. His research interests include SIEM and endpoint security, network defense, OT/ICS security, automation with Python and Bash, and advanced security research involving quantum computing and AI-driven intrusion detection. He has published IEEE conference papers on quantum GAN-based adversarial attack generation and feature selection for imbalanced intrusion detection datasets.
